Cancer Policies
in Greece
Our main priorities in cancer policy are the need for the country to have a modern National Action Plan for Cancer Control in combination with a reliable population-based National Cancer Registry and a National Institute of Neoplasms, which are essential prerequisites for cancer control and an efficient oncology care system.
Our proposals, submitted to the political leadership through memoranda and letters, focus on timely access to innovative medicines, mental health, Primary Health Care, the establishment of the National Public Health Organization, the digitalization of health services, coverage of the costs for necessary diagnostic tests and biomarkers, and full coverage of the costs of medications for comorbidities or side effects of cancer treatments, among other issues.
