- The Hellenic Cancer Federation - ELLOK is organizing an awareness campaign on prostate cancer, titled “The most important match is your own.”
Taking into account the fact that football is the most popular sport in Greece, with deep roots in the country's society and culture, and actively supporting collaborations between different sectors for the common good, ELLOK chose the path of sports to achieve the greatest impact among the male population. And it couldn’t have found better ambassadors for the campaign’s message than the members of the legendary team that led Greece to victory in the 2004 European Championship! Legends 2004! | Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men over the age of 50 and the second leading cause of cancer-related death among men. Each year in Greece, between 3,200 and 3,400 new cases of prostate cancer are diagnosed. However, prostate cancer progresses slowly, and early detection offers excellent chances for complete cure. Therefore, raising awareness and encouraging men to undergo regular check-ups plays a crucial role.
