The Oncology platform All.Can Greeceis organizing an event, titled "Mapping the efficiency of cancer care in Greece: Pilot Implementation of the All.Can Action Guide” on Wednesday 12 November 2025 from 12:00- 15:00, at the Stratos Vassilikos Hotel in Michalakopoulou 114 , Athens .

The seminar aims to present the results of a study conducted by All.Can Greece in 2025, with the purpose of:

  • Assessing the efficiency of oncology care provided in Greece, focusing on three interconnected pillars: timely care, care coordination, and patient-centeredness
  • Evaluating the readiness of the healthcare system to integrate standardized performance indicators for oncology care and support services
  • Highlighting the challenges and opportunities identified for improving oncology care efficiency nationwide, with the goal of ensuring timely, equitable, and effective access for all cancer patients to advanced therapeutic options.

The study is based on research carried out in collaboration with the Universities of Piraeus and Western Attica, through the pilot implementation of the Action Guide for Efficient Cancer Care Action Guide for Efficient Cancer Caredeveloped by the University of Amsterdam and the global platform for improving oncology care, All.Can International All.Can International. All.Can Greece is one of three global platforms selected to undertake this pilot implementation and corresponding research.

The first phase of the study involved structured interviews at eight selected oncology hospitals and clinics across the country. The second phase included interviews with key stakeholders such as the Health Quality Assurance Organization (ODIPY), the 1st Regional Health Authority (1η ΥΠΕη ), the Hellenic Society of Medical and Radiation Oncologists (EOPE), the Hellenic Society of Radiation Oncology (EEAO), the Hellenic Society of Pathological Anatomy (EEPA), the National Nursing Association of Greece (ESNE), and the Hellenic Cancer Federation (ELLOK).

The study, conducted by Professor Athanasios Vozikis of the University of Piraeus and Associate Professor Kostas Athanasakis of the University of Western Attica, also includes policy recommendations to improve oncology care efficiency in Greece and the capacity to adopt standardized performance recording indicators in the near future.
